Over to the east, the forests are still there, but not quite the same types found in the north. They are more like oaks and maples with the occasional pine; quite the opposite of the north, actually. There is a large lake on the far side which has a river which comes from the upper most corner in the north, heading west with some smaller streams breaking off into other directions. The transition between the east and the more western parts is very gradual until you get far enough that it spins right into the flattened lands. Here the hills are pretty big, though not large enough to be considered mountains.

Deep sweeping hills, warm green grass with the occasional tree. Smaller valleys between some of the larger mounds are commonly found, the tall green grass covering everything. In the winter, the southern part can be covered in blankets of snow. While this area doesn't get quite as much as the more northern parts of the land, it never goes a winter without seeing a good amount of snow. Trees are found here, but not as common as other parts except when you get more east. As you go west, it flattens out more and the grass lengthens.
